Job Description
The Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences (IChF PAS), one of Poland’s top-ranked research institutions, is offering 20 postdoctoral positions under the prestigious programme Basic Sciences for Society Needs: postdoctoral training (BS4S). The programme is co-funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe – Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA-COFUND).
About the Programme
BS4S is designed for ambitious researchers committed to transforming fundamental science into innovative solutions for industry and society. Each fellow will design their own interdisciplinary project aligned with IChF’s scientific expertise, benefiting from the guidance of two mentors—one from IChF and one from a high-profile foreign institution (ERC/EIC or equivalent).
Beyond individual research, the programme includes an extensive training package on research valorisation, innovation, and career development. Fellows will gain access to internships, entrepreneurial mentoring, and collaborations with 12 business partners, ensuring that scientific outcomes have a pathway to real-world application.

Eligibility
PhD in chemistry, physics, biotechnology, materials science, or related fields (or formal proof of thesis defence).
Mobility rule: Applicants must not have resided in Poland for more than 12 months in the 36 months before the application deadline.
Strong command of English.

Candidates will be evaluated through a two-stage process (document review and interviews) based on project excellence, potential impact, researcher’s experience, motivation, and soft skills.
